Life in Baza is very calm, relaxed and laid back and we are finding that we have more free time than ever. When you only work 12-15 hours a week, that leaves a lot of time to do other things. The problem is, it is difficult to find things to do in a small city like Baza, but once the opportunity presents itself, you jump on it.
One of the other auxilier's in our city saw this poster on the wall and encouraged all of us to participate.
Today was the first breast cancer walk in Baza and it was literally just a walk. We did not have to raise money or advertise, we could just show up, receive a free tee shirt and/or bandana and join the group. The walk ended up taking us about 45 minutes outside of Baza to a nice restaurant that provided us with a drink and a light snack before we walked another 45 minutes back to Plaza Mayor to enjoy a brief flamenco/drumming/belly dancing show.
It was a good way for us to pass the time, walk for a good cause and take advantage of what is going on in our city.
